Local festivities

The local “FIESTAS” are colourful and open, meant to be enjoyed in the street. Light, music, fireworks and processions play an important role in all local fiestas, and visitors are especially welcome to enjoy the festive spirit. Each season has its fiesta such as “Las Fallas” and “Hogueras de San Juan”, where fire and fireworks play a central part. Costume processions such as “ Moros y Cristianos”, festivals such as “Misteri de Élx” or “El Pilar” when historic, religious or legendary rites are celebrated, take place throughout the year.
